The flag of Kosrae, adopted on July 28, 1981, features a light blue field symbolizing the Pacific Ocean. At its center, four white stars represent the island's four municipalities: Lelu, Malem, Utwe, and Tafunsak. Beneath the stars lies a white "Fafa" stone, a ceremonial stone unique to Micronesian culture, and a wreath, commemorating the period of UN Trusteeship.
