The flag of Roraima, designed by Mário Barreto and adopted on June 14, 1996, features a turquoise blue field symbolizing the state's pure air and sky, a white stripe representing peace, and a green stripe denoting its dense forests and savannahs. A narrow red stripe at the bottom signifies the equator passing through the state. Centered on the red stripe is a gold star, representing Wezen from the constellation Canis Major, which also appears on Brazil's national flag to denote Roraima.
