The flag of Pohnpei features a deep blue field symbolizing the encompassing ocean. At its center lies a half coconut shell, known as a "sakau" cup, representing the unique cultural significance of the sakau drink in Pohnpeian society. Surrounding the cup are eleven stars, each denoting one of Pohnpei's municipalities: Pingelap, Mokil, Ponape, Ngatik, Nukuoro, Kapingamarangi, Sokehs, Kitti, Uh, Madolenihmw, and Kolonia. Encircling the entire design is a wreath of coconut leaves, highlighting the importance of the coconut plant to the state's economy and culture. This flag was adopted in December 1977, following a design competition won by student Rosendo Alex.

This landscape Pohnpei flag is a high-quality German product made of 110g/m² gloss polyester. This Pohnpei flag is wind- and weather-resistant and highly durable. The flag colors are vibrant and UV-resistant.

The flag of Pohnpei gracefully showcases a vibrant heraldic blue, composing 85% of its fabric, complemented by delicate white accents that make up 9%, while the subtle touches of dark green and light brown, representing 4% and 2% respectively, add a natural elegance to the overall design.

The reinforced bunting and the metal eyelets provide long-term durability of this Pohnpei flag. If required, the flag can be washed at 60 degrees Celsius.
